Favorite Quote of the Week --- When Life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams-this may be madness. To seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness. And the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be. Cervantes
What Can I Do? --- A current action you can take to make a difference: People in Ballard, Washington, this month are trying to restrict their food consumption to food that has been grown within 100 miles of their homes. (They call it the 100-mile diet) One major element of community security is a plentiful local food supply. Our current food chain is heavily dependent on that same cheap petroleum that is becoming very expensive. Spend some time this week thinking about what where your food comes from and what ramifications that has for our communities.
